Senior Legal Finance Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Legal Finance Administrator to join an already successful finance department. The role would suit an experienced legal cashier looking to make the next step in their career, to provide the leadership and management for all aspects of Finance the successful candidate will work with initiative and have previous experience of working in a busy setting. Applicants will preferably have 3-4 years’ experience of all aspects of Legal Accounting.
Responsibilities
  • Daily bank reconciliation
  • Administration of daily client to office transactions
  • Preparing required paperwork for completions and liaising with the fee earners
  • Agreeing completion statements to ledgers
  • Monitoring time recording and fee-earner performance
  • Assisting Fee earners with balance queries
  • Working closely with the Finance Manager, assisting with Month End processes, VAT Returns, preparation of statutory accounts
Key Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Solicitor’s Account Rules
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is vital, and investigative nature and strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication skills are essential along with a friendly telephone manor
  • Ability to multi-task, working well under pressure
  • Confident to lead a small team
  • Willingness to learn and develop your career
  • Although not essential professional membership of AAT, CIMA, ACA or ACCA would be advantageous.
