We are proud to have played a pivotal role in the acquisition of W. Moorcroft, one of Stoke-on-Trent’s most iconic names in ceramics.

With operations dating back to 1913, Moorcroft is internationally recognised for its handcrafted, tube-lined designs and collector-grade pottery. When the business closed earlier this year, we worked closely with William J. Moorcroft and a team of advisers to bring the business back into family hands, and secure its future in the city where it all began.

The transaction completed on Friday 13th June and involved raising significant finance in a matter of 6 weeks to make the deal viable. We structured the full transaction, coordinated financial planning, and worked hand-in-hand with Roy Moorby and Richard Fothergill at BMH Corporate Finance to deliver a highly complex turnaround at speed.

This was more than a commercial deal, it was about preserving the legacy of a great British name, protecting skilled local jobs, and reigniting global interest in a brand that has defined excellence in ceramic artistry for generations.

We are hugely thankful to Matt Price and Jo Hamilton of Alextra, Neil Dingley and Laura Pickering of Moore Recovery, Gary Harper of John Pye Auctions and Sarah Lee and Guy Houldsworth of Howes Percival for their valued support in bringing this deal together.

It has been a privilege to help secure Moorcroft’s future and we look forward to seeing its legacy continue to thrive under family leadership once again.
