Longmans Butchers

RJS Solicitors’ Corporate team has received high praise for its “professionalism and speed” after supporting the sale of a fourth generation family business.

A tight deadline was given in the share sale of Crewe-based Longman’s Butchers to a PLC – and RJS solicitor Tom Newman, with support from colleague James Butcher, got the job done.

Mark Longman, one of the sellers, said: “Tom and James were extremely professional from start to finish. The deal needed to be done quickly and nothing was too much trouble – they worked above and beyond to get us over the line.

“Much of their work was done outside normal hours and I would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone. Their fees were also extremely reasonable.”

On behalf of RJS, Tom Newman said: “The expertise of Valerie Wood at DPC Accountants, in regards to tax matters, and Paul Dodgshon at Business Partnership, who packaged the transaction and kept everyone focused on completion, were greatly appreciated. This transaction could not have been completed so efficiently without their hard work and swift turnarounds.”

Paul Dodgshon, Regional Partner at Business Partnership Corporate, said: “The buyer and seller wanted a quick completion and without Tom and the team at RJS this could not have happened. The service was responsive and commercial, and we worked well as a team to deliver on time.”

Tom added that RJS’ busy Corporate team has a further six major deals to complete in the coming weeks, as well as many other ongoing matters in a very strong end to the financial year.
